Math Calculators

Percentage, fraction, statistics and geometry calculators, each shown with the formula and a worked example using your own numbers.

About these calculators

The math calculators handle the arithmetic that is easy to get wrong by hand: percentages and percentage change, fractions and mixed numbers, roots and powers, averages, statistics and basic geometry. Each page shows the formula and a worked example next to the result, so the tool doubles as a way to check homework or a spreadsheet.

Results are computed in your browser when you press Calculate, with the working shown beside the answer. For anything graded or published, redo the key step by hand or against a second source before relying on it, and check your inputs for the usual slips: a sign, a unit, or a percent entered as a decimal.

Frequently asked questions

Do the calculators show their working?

Yes. Each page explains the formula behind the result and includes a worked example, so you can follow the steps and repeat them by hand.

Can I use them for exams?

Check your exam rules first. For study, use the tools to verify an answer you worked out yourself, since the working is shown.

What if an answer looks wrong?

Re-check the inputs first, especially signs, units and whether a value is a percent or a decimal. If it still looks wrong, tell us through the contact page.
