About CalcScholar

CalcScholar is a free set of grade calculators for university students in Pakistan. It exists because working out a CGPA by hand is tedious, and because most calculators online quietly use one generic grading scale even though Pakistani universities each publish their own.

Where the grading scales come from

Every university on this site has its scale transcribed from that institution’s own published academic regulations, and the source document is cited at the bottom of its page along with the date we retrieved it. When a university publishes no scale we can verify, we say so on the page and fall back to the common HEC-style mapping rather than inventing one.

Scales change between regulation versions, and older students sometimes hold transcripts issued under a superseded scale. If a number here disagrees with your result card, your result card is right, so tell us and we will investigate and correct it.

Who creates and reviews the calculators

Every calculator names one creator and one reviewer in the box under its title, and each name links to a profile that lists the calculators that person worked on. The people are on the team page, and the editorial policy explains how a page is sourced, checked and corrected.

How the calculations are verified

The GPA arithmetic is a set of pure functions covered by an automated test suite that reproduces a real five-semester Superior University result card exactly: every semester GPA, every running CGPA, every percentage and every total. Details that most calculators get wrong are covered deliberately: result cards truncate a GPA rather than rounding it, percentages do round, and deficiency courses are treated differently in the GPA than in the credit-hour totals.

Documents this site generates

The transcript generator produces a PDF for your own reference. It is marked unofficial, carries no seal or signature, and names no issuing authority, by design. We will not add those features. Only your university can issue a transcript that means anything to an employer or another institution.

How the site is funded

CalcScholar is free and supported by display advertising. Ads are kept out of the calculators and the transcript builder, and out of anywhere they could be mistaken for part of a result. No account is required and your marks are never uploaded, since every calculation happens in your browser.
